09 Days Naga-Manipur combine tour

Day 1 - Arrive at Dibrugarh airport assistance upon arrival.transfer drive to Sibsagar.

Day 2 - Full day in & around Sibsagar. Visit Shiva and Vishnu temples and the ruins of the Ahom kingdom - the historic capitol of Ahom who ruled the brahmaputra valley for over 600 years one of the oldest ruling dynasty in the world, visit various temples, fort etc.

Day 3 - Morning drive to Mon, the district headquarter and the land of the Konyak tribes. You can admired the former head hunters with their tattooed faces and big horns pierced in their ears. Konyaks are still ruled by heredetary chiefs known as Angh.

Day 4 -Full day visit of Konyak tribal villages. Drive to Longwa village, the largest village amoung the Konyak tribal villages, Konyaks are still ruled by heredetary chiefs known as Angh. The house of the chief is situated half in Myanmar and half in India on International boundary. Overnight Local House.

Day 5 -Drive through beautiful countryside to Mokokchung (220km/ 7hrs). This town is the cultural centre of the Ao Naga tribe. Overnight Mokokchung.

Day 6 - Whole day exploration of Ao Naga tribal villages, walk around the village on the old missionary's path and visit the local museum with tribal exhibits. In the afternoon Longkhum, a vanguard village in the days of head hunting. Lastly we will go to Ungma Village, the oldest and the biggest Ao village. Overnight Mokokchung.

Day 7 - Drive to Wokha 80km/ 4hrs, is the home of the Lotha tribe. Hill Top village studded with monolithe (Longsu) erected by rich ancestor, depicting their high status. Also this district is reputed for its excellent oranges and pineapples. Overnight Wokha.

Day 8 - Morning drive to Kohima 90 kms/ 4 hrs, is the state capital of the vibrant Nagaland, enroute visit tribal villages. On arrival check-in Hotel. Overnight Hotel.

Day 9 - Full day in around Kohima, excursion to Khonoma village of Angami tribe it offers delightful view of Nagaland nature beauty and ecological diversity visit World War-II Memorial cemetery, Cathedral, State Museum, Local Market, late afternoon Naga Traditional Dance

Day 10 -Drive to Imphal 145 kms/ 4 hrs. Imphal is the state capital of Manipur. On arrival check-in hotel. Later visit the local market the Khwairamband Bazar or Ima Market, a unique all women market where all 'Imas' or mothers run the stalls. Exquisite handlooms and handicrafts will impress you. Overnight Hotel.

Day 11 -Morning visit shrines of Krishna and Balaram and Jagannath flank the two sides of the prestigious deity. Manipuries are mostly Vaishnavites and this temple is the main place of worship, drive back for breakfast and later visit, the historic Kangla Fort "According to Cheitharol Kumbaba, the royal chronicle of Manipur, the Kangla housed the royal palace ever since Nongda Lairen Pakhangba ascended the throne in 33 A.D. In the pre-Pakhangba period, a ruling clan named Khaba ruled from Kangla ," visit the World War-II war cemetery of the allied forces who sacrifice their lives fighting against the Japanese, visit the state museum. Overnight Hotel.

Day 12 - After breakfast drive to Loktak Lake, a National Park. It is covered extensively by naturally - occuring phoomdis (mass of floating vegetation) which are a specialized habitat for many biota, besides being useful to the local people in many ways. The Keibul Lamjao National Park, in the southern part of the lake, is a unique floating wildlife reserve and the only home of the endangered Manipur brow - antlered deer or "Sangai",. It has been the breeding ground of a number of riverine migratory fishes from the Irrawady - Chindwin river system and continues to be vital as a fish habitat. The lake also supports a signfi cant population of resident and migratory waterfowl. Visit the Moirang World War-II memorial museum of the 'Indian National Army'. Later drive back to Imphal. Overnight Hotel.

Day 13 - Morning at leisure, later transfer drive to airport, connect flight for onward journey.
